How a shipment travels from Saudi Arabia to Turkey

Almost all household shipments from the Kingdom to Turkey sail from Jeddah Islamic Port, because the Red Sea and Suez Canal route is the shortest to Turkish ports. From Jeddah and Makkah the container reaches the port the same day, from Riyadh and Al Qassim in one to two days, and from Dammam and Al Ahsa in about two days.

From Jeddah the container reaches Mersin and Iskenderun in 8 – 12 days, and Izmir or Ambarli in Istanbul in 12 – 16 days, then it is cleared within several working days and taken to your address for reassembly. So the total time depends more on how far your city is from Jeddah than on the sailing.

Dismantling by carpenters

Cartons, gifts and dates

Clothes cartons, gifts and packed dates travel in the shared sea load; a standard carton starts from SAR 60. Write the receiver’s name and number on every carton, keep liquids away from clothes, and do not overfill cartons so they do not burst when stacked in the container.

Customs and documents in Turkey

Personal effects and used furniture are exempt when transferring residence to Turkey under conditions: the goods must be used, the owner must hold a residence or work permit, and the shipment must arrive within the allowed period relative to the owner’s entry. Clearance usually takes several working days after the container arrives and requires the owner or an agent.
